Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following the attempted theft of a handbag from a woman in Oakham.
Church Street Oakham Rutland
The incident happened on Friday August 29 at about 6pm in Church Street.
The suspect approached the woman from behind and tried to pull the bag from her shoulder, before pushing her to the floor causing abrasions to both hands.
The suspect is described a man, 6ft tall, wearing a black hooded top and dark trousers.
Cutts Close Oakham
He was last seen walking off towards Cutts Close
PCSO 6521 Nicole Welsh is investigating the incident, she said: “If you witnessed the incident or saw anyone matching the description of the suspect in the area then please get in touch.
“Nothing was actually stolen during the incident, however it left the victim was left distressed.”
