Rutland County Council Budget Consultation Bus Oakham and Uppiingham

Rutland County Council Budget Consultation Bus

The older man climbing aboard is Roger Begy Tory leader of Rutland County Council
he was available along with other Conservative councillor to discuss budget issues.

A piece of theatre the council is obliged to carry out. I am sure Oakham Town Council
are pleased it does not have to consult anyone before it sets its flexed budget.

If you would like to have a go at attempting to get the Rutland Tories to listen
and act upon public input then they will be taking the bus to Uppingham Market Place, 10am-12pm Saturday 24th January

They will of course say they hope to freeze the council tax for the 5th year. Of course they
have to it was all part of a 5 year deal with central government.

The Tory election leaflet won't tell you their council tax is the highest in England.

It won't tell you the level of funding from central government was set at rate subject
to no rise in council tax precept for the 5 years.

No increase but still the highest with the least in return.
