Woodland land needs protecting from The Rutland Woodland Trust, Oakham Town Council and Brooke Hill Academy

Woodlands trust says we need proper guidance

Rutland and Licolnshire's ancient woodland could be at risk if better legal protection's not introduced.

The Woodland Trust's calling for a Forestry Bill to give proper guidance around the issue, there are some concerns MPs may soon vote allowing more development in forested areas.

Only around four per cent of Lincolnshire's covered by woodland, way below the national average of thirteen per cent.

Lorraine Mullally on Rutland Radio News  from the Woodland Trust says the government needs to step up.

It's my opinion our Woodland land needs protecting from The Rutland Woodland Trust, Oakham Town Council and Brooke Hill Academy.

The Woodland Trust is currently in the process of entering into a dodgy deal led by Oakham Deputy Mayor Alf Dewis to lease land to the Town Council who will then permit Brooke Hill Academy to
use it for parking.

Trust? I wonder if the Woodland Trust has held any public consultation? I am not aware of any.
