Oakham Town Council To Consider Grant Application From Oakham in Bloom Contravening Rules
Oakham in Bloom is requesting £1000
Unfortunately recently the Town Council co-opted the Vice Chairman Cllr Blanksby.
The rules state a councillor or organisation they are connected to can apply for a grant.
They can thank Cllr Nowell and his wife for that and possibly the local government act.
But then for years Oakham Town Councillor freely handed over thousands of pounds
of tax payers money to ex Cllr Maureen Dodds who chaired Oakham in Bloom for year
and gave away our carnival money.
The rules also state all organisations must match fund the amount required, The Councillors signed application states the project total is £1500 that is not match funding,
The other problem with this application is Oakham in Bloom appears to be more and more
contracting out work but taking the glory for work. £300 is proposed to be paid to a local
company to carry out the bulk of the work.
