Badger Watch at Rutland Water
Join our trainee reserve officers for an evening of badger watching from our badger hide at Egleton nature reserve. The hide is situated near the badger set and you can enjoy fantastic view as our resident family come over on their evening foraging!
April: Wednesday 8th, 7.40pm-10.10pm | Saturday 18th, 7.55pm-10.25pm
May: Wednesday 6th, 8.25pm-10.55pm | Wednesday 20th, 8.45pm-11.15pm | Saturday 23rd, 8.55pm-11.25pm
Badger watches meet around dusk in our Car Park and go on for 2.5 hours, giving the badgers good time to visit the hide, and those of us lucky to be there to enjoy seeing them and any other nocturnal creatures that show up on the night. Previous highlights include Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Bats, Foxes and Muntjac Deer.
Our badger watches are open to all ages. We leave it to the parent’s discretion as to whether or not a watch is suitable for their child, bearing in mind we have to sit and be quiet for over two hours.
Badger watches will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather. In the unlikely event that we ever have to cancel a watch we will ring you in advance and re-organise another date for you.
Spaces are limited so do contact us so we can book you in.
