Roger Begy Conservative Leader of Rutland County Council Rutland Times Letter in Response to Funding Question

Roger Begy Conservative Leader of Rutland County Council Rutland Times Letter in
Response to Funding Question.

Councillors like Roger Begy have to take a big look at themselves then they would
understand why people are not interested in attending or supporting events they organise.

"Community Will and Involvement " he suggests.

People tell me  and agree they are fed up with the same small group of power crazy people
here in Oakham and Rutland who want to involve themselves in every organisation from the
sports to the arts. Which in turn puts people off becoming involved. If you hold an difference of opinion they block your involvement.

One perfect example is one town councillor, who involves herself in everything and
anything and moves on when she has upsets and destroys any happiness within that
group.

Oakham in Bloom was the first, Oakham Carnival, The Friends of the Museum
closely followed by the  Festival which is currently being resurrected by Roger Begy's
daughter in law and it is no surprise the Councillor has popped up on the new committee.

The old guard claims to want to include new people this far from the truth.

They totally ignore public opinion. When the public say the Proms in the park
was depressing the Councillors say it was fabulous?

There comes a time when all should retire. unfortunately there are few who don't
they are oblivious to the damage they cause.

Public Arts and Culture is nearly extinct here Rutland.

Another example of a councillor causing damage is her connection to a charity
concert this month whilst looking at the bunting she has over stretched from
tree to tree near the library with attached adverts a lady said to me I was going
then I realised who was involved.

As for the councils sports funding  it is not just the former Tory Letter Writer who
holds similar opinion about the councils funding issues.

Too much 106 contributions have been directed to sport organisations based
at the old prison. They already benefit from subsidised rents.

Rutland County Council have for many years supported the Judo club described as
the UK's most successful chain of clubs.

The Town Council spent a quarter of its income helping a couple open a gym
they have now departed leaving rent arrears. Moving to Rutland County Councils
Enterprise Park receiving taxpayers subsidised rent whilst owing them thousands
to the residents of Oakham.

Lets hope the May election brings about a big change and that does not have
to include me. There are plenty of decent people who could take over our
councils instead of moaning about them.

The nasties who control our town and county are so few but their effect is
so big. It's time for change.

Richard Gale Former UKIP Cllr supports Former Rutland Tory Councillors Opinion on Sports Funding

Richard Gale Former UKIP supports Former Rutland Tory Councillors Opinion on Sports Funding

In my previous post I said Mr Jones was told the only person to have an opinion about
Rutland County Councils handouts to their favoured sports clubs.

Both men are not as blunt as I am these days. What Rutland Tories do is so open
and blatant, not many people think of it as corrupt. Of course there was a time
Cllr Richard Gale would have used the word corruption when the council dished
out grants to its old friends.  apart from his weekly protests in town his group has been
mostly silenced by the Tory Bullies.
