Rutland County Council and Rutland Parish Council Counts Victoria Hall Oakham Friday

Rutland County Council and Rutland Parish Council Counts Victoria Hall
Oakham Friday

The count will take place from 2pm

Mrs Briggs the returning officer for the first time is employing bouncers
on the doors of a count.

Mrs Briggs is hold the count in the upstairs of the hall.

Mrs Briggs has instructed Rutland's only disabled day centre to close its
doors on Friday. Out of the Rut Rents a room downstairs.

Mrs Briggs has instructed the Hall Manager to take the day off.

Mrs Briggs has also instructed the Town Council Clerk and Assistant
to stay away from the Town Council office. This I find extraordinary
Mrs Briggs does not employ or have any control of our Town Council.
Fortunately the town council does not normally open to the public on
a Friday the time is meant to be used by staff for work undisturbed.
I believe the order made by Mrs Briggs as Returning Officer is not
within her legal powers and is typical of the Tory power crazed person
she has become.

Mrs Briggs has placed notices in Church Street within a legal 7 day
notice period to suspend parking.

The notices unlike other councils throughout the country, do not
look official and I would assume anyone who is ticketed on Friday
will win any appeal the notice do not clearly indicate the suspension
times and are so floppy the probably have not been noticed by many
motorists.

For the first time some parts of Rutland's count are likely to go ahead with
no candidates, Count Agents or Observers present. Not a good day
for democracy.

Interestingly Mrs Briggs is relaxing her strict rules for the verification
at Melton Cattle Market. She is permit all Candidates and Agents
entry for the whole procedure if they wish to stay. So why not Oakham?

Mrs Briggs excuse the venue is smaller is untrue.
