Elected unopposed as an Independent for the Verwood West ward of East Dorset DC, whose other seat is held by Toni Coombs, also an Independent and shown as resident at the same address.
Both councillors are jointly representing the Verwood & Three Legged Cross division. Cllr Flower served as Dorset’s leader until he was charged last November.
He was convicted of having failed to declare a pecuniary interest in Synergy Housing – of which he was a non-executive director – before voting on Dorset’s core strategy for social housing provision in February 2013. Two other charges had earlier been dropped.
Cllr Flower received a six-month conditional discharge and had to pay £930 costs.
