Oakham Police Station Sold To Oakham School Could be demolished and new school offices built

Oakham Police Station Sold To Oakham School Could be demolished and new office built

When Leicestershire Police first decided to close Oakham Police Station they hoped
Oakham School would buy the building which cost the tax payer over £2,000,000 to
build.

I wondered why staff from Leicestershire were talking outside as if the police station
as if the deal had been sealed between them and Oakham School.

The property had not been placed on the open market.

It was later put up for sale with a suggested price of £750,000 quite a bargain.

This week I have been told Oakham School has now agreed to buy the property
and plans to demolish and build new school offices.

Today the police who remained in the offices of the former police station
moved out into a small newly built hub at the rear of the property
