Deeping Raft Race

The Theme
This year we are hoping everyone will have fun with the theme and dress as their favourite Cartoon Character.
There is a trophy for the Best Dressed Raft and there will be a prize for the best dressed spectators.
Assembly Point
On the Sunday morning (2nd August) rafters will be parading their rafts from The Waterton along Bridge Street to the start area near the metal foot bridge. Prior to the rafts going down the river.
We are planning to interview the rafters over the loudspeakers so that the spectators can get to know the teams and we can set off teams that want to compete against each other
Youth Race - The first rafts down the river at 12 noon
As per tradition we will be allowing our younger rafters to start the festivities. Hopefully this year we will see more entries in this category. We have relaxed certain criteria to encourage more teams to enter. Under 18 year olds not just under 16s.
To make it a little easier and to entertain the crowds along Bridge Street the rafters in the Youth Race will paddle up to High Locks and then back down to under the stone Bridge by the Bell pub finishing at the metal Foot Bridge.
Medals
Every rafter will be given their medal for entering by the team from the Empire Gym, one of our sponsors, who will be helping rafters safely cross the High Street by The Iron Horse.
Trophy Presentation - 4pm outside Barclays Market Deeping
This year the Trophy Presentation will be held outside Barclays in the town centre at approximately 4.00pm, and Cassidy Little will be presenting them.
