Rutland County Council Confidential Yellow Papers.

This evening I attended a planning meeting at Rutland County Council.
along with hundreds of members of the public.

Sitting at the press table was Rutland County Councillor Richard Gale
and Oakham Town Councillor Joyce Lucas.

After the first item there was an adjournment. Cllr Gale left the chamber.

I picked up a couple of old agendas as I did not have one, whilst I was
handing a officer a letter I could hear Cllr Gale calling Brookes! Brookes!
whilst running in and out of the door a bit like a headless chicken.

I walked to one of the many door to one of the many lobbies and
was met by Cllr Gale who took the agendas from me and said
one of them contained confidential documents and don't play that
game. Not sure what he meant by that. Cllr Gale was fortunate another
member of the public had not picked up the agenda from the
press table which I must add is the location point for the public
to collect agendas. Whilst he was worrying about the possible
loss of confidential council paper I wonder if he remembered to
pick up his security pass card which he also left unattended on the
same table?

It is interesting to learn that Rutland County Council gives out
confidential documents to non committee members.

At Oakham Town Council they refuse to let non committee
members see anything confidential and then expect us
to make an informed decision at full council.

Oakham Town Councils confidential papers are red and Cllrs
give them back after a meeting I keep mine safe because
I can not see how you can do the job of a councillor properly
if you can not refer back to anything. I have was always
puzzled to watch and film the deputy Mayor Cllr Lowe tear up
documents as the meeting progressed.
