Rutland County Councils New Ugly CCTV Installations provokes further complaints from residents

Although Rutland County Council did eventually get around to consulting apologising to some
resident in Princess Avenue Oakham. I feel there should have been a wider consultation.
Mr Hugh Crouch from Rutland County Council recognises this and so does the Tory Leader
Roger Begy who wrote a note to residents from Princess Avenue who attended a special meeting.

As the cameras are installed more complaints are coming in. residential and in some cases
residential conservation areas the installations are the ugliest possible.

Some residents despite reassurance that privacy zones can be set up find the introducion
of cameras into residential areas of Oakham very intrusive.

The cameras are as we are told the best money can buy, fitted bright floodlights they
will capture any villains image anytime day or night.

Oakham Town Councillor Jasmine Hopkins is meeting with Hugh Crouch
today after concerns have been raised by residents in her ward.

The pole in Princess Avenue remains empty as Rutland County Council
decide where that is to be relocated to.
