Western Power Distribution Cable Fault Closes Shops and Businesses in Oakham Rutland Today
Smoke appeared from the pavement beside the old post office and very antiquated looking
fuses blew cutting power to the Market Place, Mill Street, Crown Walk and part of the
High Street today.
Some shops did stay open and traded in the dark.
Mill Street's Power was restored around 2.30 after fuses were fixed
part of the market place still has no power.

Whatever happened appears to have made the paving slabs
