Pennyless folk group Langham Village Hall

The first concert of 2016 at Langham Village Hall on Saturday 30th January will be by the Lincolnshire-based Pennyless folk group. Pennyless is Penny Stevens (vocals, fiddle); Les Woods (guitar); and Graham Dale (flute, whistle, melodica and percussion). Anyone who came to their concert here in 2014 will remember this talented trio of inventive minstrels who perform beautiful music combining vocals with a variety of traditional and unusual instruments to entertain in a balanced musical mix, ranging from fragile, soulful vocals to foot-stamping jigs and reels and traditional English folk tunes.

The concert starts at 7.30pm but there will be a pay bar from 7.00pm and in the interval when substantial refreshments will be served.

This event is one of a series of concerts in the church of choral and instrumental music which have included Elizabethan melodies, jazz, opera, cello, show tunes and light hearted miscellanies
