A notice of election for the office of Councillor is to be issued for Whissendine Ward on Thursday 28th January, following the receipt of two requests from local electors.
The by-election follows the resignation of Rutland County Councillor Sam Asplin (Liberal Democrats), who stood down as Ward Member in November 2015 due to ill health.
If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 3rd March 2016 between 7am and 10pm.
Potential candidates will be able to collect nomination packs from 28th January by contacting the Electoral Services Team at Rutland County Council. Alternatively, copies can be downloaded from: www.electoralcommission.org.uk
The deadline for completed nomination papers is 4pm on Friday 5th February 2016.
