Pinder's Circus Arrive in Oakham Cutts Close 2016

Pinders Circus Arrive in Oakham Cutts Close

Pinder's Circus has arrived in Oakham and will be leaving on the
6th March 2016

Cutts Close is a public park and therefore has the dangers
you would expect from any public park with the addition
of these pegs close to the footpath and trailing electric
cables.

Cllr Martin Brookes does not take any responsibility
for any injury or loss you may suffer during your visit
to the park. Cllr Martin Brookes attempted to speak
to the Circus owners regarding previous health and safety
concerns that have arisen from the Circus using the park.
Complying with my health and safety responsibilities.

The owner of the Circus said Oakham Town Council
has told him "to ignore me, I am nothing on the council."
I was not told who gave out this instruction, I can only
guess.

I don't blame the circus for the slack approach to public
safety, it is the fault of Oakham Town Council who have
been unprofessional for many years.

We must be the only council in the country who lets
fairground operators turn up, set up and let the
public take to the rides with no safety inspections
whatsoever.

Perhaps it will take a case like Alton Towers for this
Town Council to take Health and Safety seriously.

The Clerk will of course say we have insurance

My response is rubbish. They would not pay out
I am not a Cllr who is a Health and Safety Nut
I just would like to see some basic consideration.
Especially as we paid for a consultant earlier this
year to point out many failings and since then
it appears nothing in his report has been actioned.

I also note Rutland County Council lack of interest
in anything relating to public safety.
