A new Liberal Democrat Group has been established on Rutland County Council following the Whissendine by-election.

A new Liberal Democrat Group has been established on Rutland County Council following the Whissendine by-election.

Two Liberal Democrat Councillors have announced their intention to form a political group with immediate effect. They are:

Gale Waller Kevin Thomas
Gale Waller (Group Leader) Kevin Thomas

Helen Briggs, Chief Executive of Rutland County Council, said: “Following the election of Cllr Kevin Thomas last week I have been advised of the formation of a new Group on the Council - Liberal Democrats.

“Political groups are formed by Councillors who share common views and goals and wish to work together on the Council. They are still responsible for representing their respective Wards and their duties towards local residents do not change.”

Rutland County Council currently has 25 Ward Members and one County Councillor vacancy for Greetham.
