Dear Richard
I’ve been asked by a couple of Town Councillors for an update on the Conduct Investigation arising from the complaints about Cllr Brookes. Could you please provide the Council with the following update at the meeting this evening.
I have a draft report from the investigator and I am now required to consult with the Council’s Independent Person on this report as part of determining the next steps. Once I have done this I will discuss this with Cllr Brookes and I will then be in a position to advise the complainants of the intended course of action.
I understand that everyone involved is keen to know the outcome of this and to bring it to a close. Please could you provide my assurance that I am progressing things but there are a number of steps that I am required to go through before this can be concluded. My priority is to make sure that this is done properly.
