Why Did Oakham Town Council Lie to Grant Thornton and The Rutland Times Regarding Former Oakham Mayor Alf Dewis unlawful Expenditure?

Dear Allison

Thank you for your conformation that I will receive my FOI information next week.

I would like to clarify what is required in a little more detail, to assist you with collating
my request.

All Correspondence between the council, Clerk, Alf Dewis and Wilkin Chapman Ltd.
relating to disorderly conduct of members and public.

This information will be used as evidence for the external auditor, Oakham Town
Council and Alf Dewis and other members of this council have lied to the external
auditor and the press regarding this expenditure.

Cllr Dewis lied and said the additional unlawful expenditure was due to employment advice and not the
incorrect disorderly conduct advice received from Wilkin Chapman. This lie was supported by our current
chairman. This unlawful expenditure was not a simple mistake as they both described to the local press.

I would also for my own interest like to receive the copy of the reports handed to
councillors which contain my name. A former Town Council has made me aware
of these documents and Mr Dewis's proposal to employ secretly
two men who would wait outside the chamber it was proposed they would be summonsed in  if
Mr Dewis felt the need.

I am wondering how this expenditure would have been recorded in the council accounts and
if there has actually been any payments made to these two men.

Regarding the two men Mr Dewis wished to employ:

Please supply all copies of any correspondence the council sent to them and received
from them.

I assume these men are the same two employees of Rutland County Council until the
council realised they could not use force against a person peacefully protesting.

Please all supply all correspondence relating to this matter that may have been sent to anyone at
Rutland County Council
and received from anyone at Rutland County Council.

A former Mayor ######### was present at the Oakham Town Council meeting when the changes to
the code of conduct were approved, he was very supportive of Mr Dewis's proposal Please supply me with
any correspondence received from ######## and any correspondence sent to ########### relating only to this matter.

Thank goodness our former Mayor Alf Dewis has gone. I am shocked that
members of this council were accepting the proposal by him to use violence
to end peaceful protest.

At the meeting when the councils standing orders were changed, I have
a recording of that meeting at which Mr Dewis states the change is based
on advice received from the solicitor so I do not understand why the council felt it was appropriate
to lie to the auditor or press?
