Laura Unsworth Team GB Rio Hockey Olympic medalist officially opens Aldi Supermarket New Oakham Store with Oakham Rugby Club




















Laura Unsworth from Sutton Coldfield's a member of Great Britain Hockey team Olympic champions.

They defeated the Netherlands to win Britain's 24th gold at Rio 2016.

Sutton Grammar School for Girls student Unsworth and her team-mates had become the first GB hockey side to make the final since the men won gold against West Germany at the 1988 Games in Seoul.




























Oakham Rugby Club have received a new kit, Aldi are now
a main sponsor.



The new store opened at 8.00am this morning with some
customers waiting since 10pm the previous evening.

I have never been to a early morning supermarket opening
but for some mad reason I decided to pop along at 4.30am

Mad I know but it did get me a free bag of shopping.
and a chance to handle an Olympic Medal they are quite
heavy.

The first customer started arriving at 10pm the night before

These were the first four at the door at 4.30am this morning






















Among the first one hundred were a lot of men who had just
finished their night shift at a nearby factory.
A lot of the men filled trolley with bargain priced compressors
and tools. There was the opportunity to buy drones fitted with
cameras £39.99 I can't wait to see the crash footage soon.












A lady from Ranksborough Caravan Park Langham was the
second customer her daughter the third. She won a blood
pressure device.




















The lady who was the first customer won a steam cleaner






















This had to be one of the longest queues I have seen in Oakham
beating the post office at Christmas and the doctors.

Eventually the queue stretched out of the car park and around the corner.

I did not know you can still buy soap bars.
