Driver For A Fiver at Rocks By Rail
Multiple dates from Sunday, May 14th to Sunday, July 9th
The ever popular 'Driver For A Fiver' returns to Rocks By Rail. This
is your chance to drive a twenty ton Rolls Royce powered diesel shunter for just £5 (normal admission applies).
Take to the controls of a historic diesel locomotive under the
expert guidance of one of our friendly volunteers and take the loco for a trip along our former minerals branch line.
Visitors can also view our fleet of historic ironstone locomotives in
the recently opened Simon Layfield Exhibition Centre which now houses the greater part of the museums collection. The Woolsthorpe Workshopis also open for visitors to see progress of ongoing locomotive
restorations.
Driver For A Fiver is offered on a first come, first served basis. Participants must be able to enter the cab of the locomotive from the platform unaided. Age restrictions may apply.
Price: Adult £8, Senior Citizen £7, Child (3-14 years) £5
