Rutland and Melton Election Hustings at All Saints Church Cancelled.
Following the tragic events of last night in Manchester, the main national political parties have suspended general election campaigning.
This morning I have consulted with the other parliamentary candidates for Rutland & Melton and we have agreed that our own local campaigning should also be halted for at least today, therefore the Churches Together Meeting at All Saints Church Oakham this evening has been cancelled. We will let you know if it can be rearranged before the election.
It goes with out saying that attack in Manchester was barbaric, evil and beyond the comprehension of decent human beings of all faiths. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and all those affected.
I believe that Canon Lee and the Methodist Minister will be in church this evening to explain and to lead a prayer. Everyone is of course welcome to attend.

Heather Peto Rutland and Melton Labour Election Candidate
This morning I had a chance to have a chat with the Labour
Candidate. She comes across as an intelligent person and
I would have liked to hear her answers to some important
questions.
