Rutland County Council Cabinet Meeting 15th August 2017 Video Green Bin Charges / Digital Rutland
It was good to hear members raising a concern about the level of affordable homes being built in Rutland.
I guess the concerns are all a little to late, major developers are aware they have not met
targets and the draft local plan is suggesting fewer are built.
The cabinet is recommending that a charge is brought for the collection of the garden
waste bins.
I raised the issue of second purchased bins after the meeting. This was something that
appears to be overlooked.
Digital Rutland still plods on, I learnt that the impression first given that Digital Rutland
was to cover the whole of Rutland was not correct. The council has set intervention areas
and can not invest in any area where a commercial company has already entered and that
even applies if that company has not provided residents with what they expect.
