Oakham Town Council Minutes of Planning Committee Friday 16th June 2017

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE HELD ON FRIDAY 16TH JUNE  2017 AT 10.30AM AT THE OFFICES OF OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL, VICTORIA HALL, 39, HIGH STREET, OAKHAM

PRESENT:
Cllrs, Peter Ind, Richard Haynes, Andrew Bennett

ABSENT:
Cllrs, Anne Skipworth, Martin Brookes

21/17   APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
(i) Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Skipworth and Brookes
(ii) It was proposed by Cllr Peter Ind, seconded by Cllr Richard Haynes
and unanimously resolved to accept the apology from Cllr Anne Skipworth                      due to a prior commitment
(iii) It was proposed by Cllr Andrew Bennett, seconded by Cllr Peter Ind
and agreed with 2 votes for and 1 against to accept the apology from                             Cllr Martin Brookes due to personal reasons

22/17 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
(i) No Disclosable Pecuniary Interests were declared
(ii) No other interests were declared

23/17 MINUTES (Appendix A)
It was proposed by Cllr Andrew Bennett, seconded by Cllr Peter Ind and unanimously resolved to confirm the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on Friday 16th June 2017, to be signed by the Chairman as a true record of that meeting

24/17 DEPUTATIONS BY THE PUBLIC

The Chairman advised members that Cllr Anne Skipworth had met with the Planners from Rutland County Council regarding the planning application 2017/0254/MAJ – (construction proposals for 18 new dwellings, demolition of 2 existing dwellings and associated garages, for 90-92 and land rear of 94-100 Brooke Road) and they felt the traffic situation would not be altered

(iii) 2017/0457/LBA Mr & Mrs Woods
Demolish chimney stack above kitchen gable. Form opening with cambered arch and insert casement window with two side-hung opening lights and central fixed light. Demolish angled wall on landing and internal wall built into first floor front bedroom to incorporate bath in adjoining W.C, reinstate bedroom wall on original line. Remove modern alterations ca. 1960, restoring original plan form and finishes. Various alterations to outbuilding – Replace machine made clay ridge tiles and Acme plain roof tiles and re-roof in handmade, salvaged, clay tiles. Replacement of temporary materials with appropriate modern brickwork. Two new windows & openings in the southern and northern gables beneath new concrete lintels faced with reclaimed oak and welsh arches in brick on north elevation. Removal of corrugated iron sheeting from northern gable and form new brick gable and verge. Alterations to lining of doorway and installation of new half glazed door, removal of brick packing, new brickwork, softwood lintel and brickwork to original bonding and coursing. Clad eastern common brick wall with cedar shiplap boarding, removal of render from gable end wall, modern window and decayed bonding timbers. Installation of cedar boarding cladding to eastern wall. Rebuild shared boundary wall between 25 and 27

Extension to bungalow works: demolition of existing garage and conservatory replaced by new 1 1/2 storey building incorporating mezzanine floor in roof space, new garage/carport and new entrance area facing Edmonton Way
