The Rutland Marathon is a full 26.2 distance race along the shores of Rutland water. Take part as an individual or a team of four. The race starts at sykes lane Rutland Water, crosses the Rutland water Dam, Past Normanton Church to Lyndon. You then double back re tracing this stunning section of the course. From Sykes lane Marathon Runners will follow the Rutland Water cycle path to Whitwell, Barnsdale, then on towards Oakham. Turning left towards Hambleton Marathon Runners will follow the track around the Peninsula before re tracing their route running back to Syke lane for a welcome from supporters and spectators. The Rutland Marathon Runners will recieve a medal and tee shirt to mark their achievement.

The Rutland Half Marathon will follow the same route as The Rutland Marathon. From The start line at Sykes lane to Lyndon via Normanton Church, then back through the start to Whitwell and beyond. Runners will however Turn back at Barnsdale in order to complete their 13.1 mile race. Anyone unsure of which distance to enter should enter the Rutland Marathon full Distance race giving them to option to complete the full Rutland Marathon or decide on the day to use the Barnsdale turnaround to Complete the Rutland Half Marathon run. Finishers will recieve a medal and tee shirt to commemorate their achievement. Feed stations are available throughout The Rutland Half Marathon route.
