British Transport Police at Oakham Level Crossing Catching Drivers Ignoring Red Lights
Last time I published photographs of the van some people on Social media said the van
is just deterrent and British Transport Police don't take action against those who ignore the red lights.
So as BTP returned this week to one of the worst crossing for offenders on the rail network, I had a chat with the police officer manning the van and the equipment inside.
He said the van is meant to be a deterrent and the Transport Police depending on the timing of the
offence driver could be sent on a course, receive a penalty charge notice and points or have a day in court.
