Oakham in Bloom 2018, It is sad the committee is made up of such egotistic folk as Craig and Cllr Joyce Lucas BEM. I wonder why they can not see the considerable damage they have caused to Oakham in Bloom over the last couple of years.
The deluded committee has entered Britain in Bloom, do they think the judges are as blind as
they are?
The Town Council has contributed £10,000 plus for some extremely overpriced ugly baskets.
All too large, the majority of business's refuse them. The council still pays the same
amount of money?
Two examples of how poor the display has got can be seen in the market place and market street.
only one basket in each location.
There has been an attempt by Oakham in Bloom to hide the big ugly planters that no one likes including the judges of Britain in Bloom, wonky home made fence panels. There are the nails sticking out, now Craig the bully take note that is a real health and safety hazard not some plastic road cones or plastic wheelbarrows you banned last year.
I would like to thank the few loyal volunteers who actually give up their time to plant and weed for us all, not the committee. Now the TV cameras have gone the numbers of volunteers have drastically dropped and I am told many departed due to Craig and Cllr Joyce Lucas, well done to them both.
Many people have said they don't like the colour scheme for 2018, which is mainly white. Personally
I think it should have been red to commemorate the end of World War One and not just white.
I think someone at the council thought the same as most of the councils ugly basket have one red fuchsia.
