Oakham Town Council the first council in the county of Rutland to recognise its LGBT community by supporting Leicester Pride this Saturday by flying the rainbow flag in Cutts Close Oakham now all is needed is for Rutland County Council to recognise gay history month.
Oakham Town Council recently agreed to purchase a number of different flags to fly in the park each month. This includes World Woman's Day.
On my way home from work this evening it was good to hear young people talking on the bandstand
about the Rainbow flag and explaining to each other what LGBT means.
Last week some young men were pleased the Council had chosen to fly the England Flag saying it was good to see their countries flag flying.
Leicester Pride 2018 takes place on Saturday 1st September at Victoria Park, Leicester
