The word bully is banded about by a few individuals who don't like me pointing out the old club know as Oakham Town Council does very little in return for over £200,000 of our money each year

The word bully is banded about by a few individuals who don't like me pointing out the old club know as Oakham Town Council does very little in return for over £200,000 of our money each year.

I would like to point out Rutland County Council has wasted many thousands of pounds over the years producing reports about Oakham Town  Council, before I had anything to do with the council a report was published stating it was dysfunctional. Two reports published on Rutland County Council website clearly state I am not a bully, but those who chose to harass and bully me ignore that fact.

As for the Town Council if residents think it gives value for money then please let me know.

The Council now pays a unqualified non competent Clerk and admin assistant around £50,000 a year is that value for money? A matter raised by Mrs Clifton at last years town meeting and ignored (I wonder is she also a bully?)

Oakham Town Council let a property in Princess Avenue below market value,
Oakham Town Council pay rent for two small rooms and business rate both far higher than any of its combined rental incomes is that value for money?

Oakham Town Council let all allotments sites below market value and no longer have any representation on the management groups.

Oakham Town Council Lets a tennis club to a private members club for peanuts the same applies at the bowels club.

Oakham Town Council buys overpriced ugly hanging baskets and lets business premise owners neglect them.

Oakham Town Council spends around £20,000 a year contracting out litter picking and grass cutting in three small parks / play areas?

It rents Christmas lights and a plastic cone.

During the summer months Oakham Town Council pays bands to perform in Cutts Close.
That is all Oakham Town Council does for it's residents.

It has failed after three years to produce a neighbourhood Plan fit for purpose. The plan has cost £20,000 one grant was obtained, the council refused to apply for other available grants, preferring to raise the money from local tax payers.

The Town Council has agreed to waste £7,000 on a new chain for the chairman,
The Town Council currently has two chains one valued at £18,000

The Town Council has a small amount of earmarked reserves but for some reason it currently has over £240,000 cash in the bank, very soon this will increase to around £450,000 when Rutland County Council passes on this years council tax money from residents.

The Council does very little with our money, over half our money each year is spent on administrating the council

It is my intention with the help of new members if elected to change things at the council, it can not be right for us to keep on paying for so little in return.

If by pointing out this issue I am described by a few as a bully I can look to the many more who don't believe what is said.

I have been pleased by the response I have received from my leaflet campaign. unfortunately due to the increased ward size, over 2000 homes and my employment. I can not knock on doors

If you do vote for me , Nick, Ian or Mark for Oakham South Oakham Town Council Election.Once elected we hope to break down the wall of silence between Oakham Town Council and Rutland County Council (mentioned by our current Chairman Adam Lowe at the last Town Council meeting)
