LANGHAM VILLAGE STREET MARKET

LANGHAM VILLAGE STREET MARKET is now an annual event and will be bigger and better than ever. Come and have a fantastic day out on Bank Holiday Monday 26 August between 11 am and 4.00pm with 100 stalls expected and lots of other attractions around for everybody in the family to enjoy.
There will be stalls selling everything imaginable, a grand barbecue outside the Village Hall plus food and refreshments all day inside. As well as the private market stalls there will be all the usual Village Hall stalls: bric-a-brac; books; tombola and a raffle with truly fantastic prizes. Additional attractions include: a display of classic cars, motorcycles, agricultural and military vehicles; a fire engine; a Fun Dog Show; Morris Dancing displays; live music plus an area set aside in the churchyard for games or a quiet rest and refreshments away from the noise and hurly burly of Church Street. Parking, including for the disabled, will be signposted.
The length of Church Street between Melton Road and the junction with Well Street will be closed to traffic for the event. Street Market stalls will be along Church Street from the Noel Arms crossroads to Well Street plus a number of stalls (including Village Hall ones) in driveways further down Church Street towards the main car parking area on Ashwell road and a one-way system will operate to help stall-holders in setting up before the road closure.
Classic cars and vehicles will be in Church Street between Melton road and the Noel Arms, motorcycles in the Noel Arms car park and the Fun Dog Show at noon in the Wheatsheaf car park. Morris dancers will give two displays, at 2.30pm near the Village Hall and at 4.00pm in the Wheatsheaf car park. The grand raffle will have over £700 worth of prizes including cash prizes up to £100, various vouchers for meals/wine/gardening, hampers and party bits etc. To make sure of getting tickets they will be on sale from 1st of July as well as during the Street Market.

There are three price bands from £15 (for Langham residents) to £25 and stalls must be booked and paid for in advance. The limited number of stall positions suitable for Gazebos are likely to book up very quickly.
All proceeds from Village Hall stalls, barbecue and food, tombola, raffle and Street Market pitch fees will be used for Village Hall refurbishments and maintenance to benefit the whole village (charity number 522341). Websites:
