Cllr Mark Lomas resigns from Oakham Town Council

Cllr  Mark Lomas resigns from Oakham Town Council

Surely the time has come for Oakham town council to be disbanded for good.

The town council costs a fortune and does very little for the town.

It pays a clerk who lies to the police and does almost no work, to add to the insult to the tax payer of Oakham the remaining six councillor feel the need to employ an assistant clerk.

With all the vacancies this gives the residents the opportunity to become members of the council, none of those I have spoken to will stand for election because they don't want to work with Cllr Adam Lowe or The Clerk.

Others have issues with the Mayor Dave Romney, who appears to only spend our money if it gets him good publicity from the local Labour party.

There are four other Councillors who are not bad.

Sally-Anne has not been able to organise any event due to Covid this year which is a shame.

As for Jean Denyer no body can understand why she is even a Councillor when she did not even want to be one. Oh silly me I forgot she had to because Adam Lowe and Dave Romney forced her by arranging the publication and delivery of her election leaflet.

Paul Buxton who thinks the town council is a retirement club.

ZoĆ« Neal the youngest member, I hear she may be resigning soon, possibly disillusioned with the reality that if you are a town councillor you cant actually do anything unless all the others agree with you.

Oakham Town Council shut down at the beginning of the covid pandemic doing nothing for the residents of Oakham, it is only recently they have held meetings via zoom and included Councillor they chose to join them. The town council has failed to comply with the law and has not published even a audio recording of any of its meetings.
