Rockingham Castle’s Victorian Christmas

Rockingham Castle’s Victorian Christmas

Experience a unique Victorian Christmas at Rockingham Castle

Candle lit trees, roaring fires and magnificent period costume – enjoy festive magic with a Victorian twist at Rockingham Castle.

Visitors will be transported back to Christmas Eve in 1849, to the reign of Queen Victoria, as the Watson family gather for their traditional Christmas celebrations.

With the Castle rooms decorated just as it would have been at the time, guests will be entertained by the housekeeper, governess, butler or footman, who will share delightful stories of Victorian family life.

Delicious homemade, locally sourced, Christmas dishes for lunch and dinner will also be available in the Walker’s House Restaurant, ranging from full festive meals to warming bowls of soup, mulled wine and mince pies. A full menu will follow shortly.

The Castle Gift Shop will also be filled with a selection of Christmas gifts for friends and family, as well rare and limited-edition decorations for visitors to recreate the feel of a Victorian Christmas in their own home.
