My studio is based in Cottesmore where I predominantly work in pastel, a very subtle medium that is great for capturing the reality of fur and skin. Working in a ‘realistic’ style ensures that I capture the likeness and character of my subject.
I run a number of workshops, private lessons and demonstrations where I try to show people what I’ve learnt over the years despite my mum (who is my long standing art critique) telling me that I give away far too many trade secrets! It gives me great satisfaction when a student leaves my class completely thrilled with their efforts and wanting to do more.
An Evening With Two Authors
Meet two of the UK’s most engaging authors: André Mangeot a widely published poet and novelist and Adam Croft, a best selling crime author.
About the Event
André Mangeot’s poetry has appeared in the Spectator, New Statesman and Times Literary Supplement and won prizes in many competitions. His latest collection is Blood Rain (Seren, 2020) that combines the personal and the public to touch on some of the major challenges now facing the planet.
He has also published two books of short stories, A Little Javanese and True North (Salt, 2008 & 2010) and recently completed a novel. For over ten years he was a member of the poetry ensemble The Joy of Six which performed at festivals across the UK and in New York. He lives in Cambridge. www.andremangeot.com
With over two million books sold to date, Adam Croft is one of the most successful independently published authors in the world, and one of the biggest selling authors of the past few years, having sold books in over 138 different countries.
To date, Adam has achieved seven Amazon storewide number 1 bestsellers, in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and Australia. Adam is considered to be one of the world’s leading experts on independent publishing and has been featured on BBC television, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live, the BBC World Service, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, The Bookseller and a number of other news and media outlets.
In March 2018, Adam was conferred as an Honorary Doctor of Arts, the highest academic qualification in the UK, by the University of Bedfordshire, in recognition of his services to literature.
