Queen Elizabeth II Statue, Oakham Town Council to consider grant application from The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland. At the meeting of the full council, on the 7th December 2022.
As this is a Rutland tribute, I wonder how the precept can be used to help fund this project. Perhaps it should be described as Oakham's tribute to the former Queen?
I also wonder if all the other Rutland Parish Councils have been approached to contribute. In the past it has been up to individual parish councils to arrange public tributes, perhaps for a jubilee, I sense this is another of Rutland County County Councils attempts to seek funding from Oakham Town Council for something they should be paying for.
Looking at the artists impression below I am wondering where the stone memorial in the raised bed will be moved to? It has been removed in this impression, recently it has been pushed over slightly.
