Leicestershire PCC Rupert Matthews replaced seven members of the ethics, integrity and complaints committee with a new ethics and transparency panel. Costing £56,000 in compensation

Leicestershire PCC Rupert Matthews replaced seven members of the ethics, integrity and complaints committee with a new ethics and transparency panel. Costing £56,000 in compensation.

His predecessor Lord Willy, criticised the group's disbandment, claiming it was because "he didn't like their criticism".

Mr Mathews says that is not true.

All members of the sacked committee received £8,000 each, after a settlement was agreed before a hearing of the Employment Tribunal.
