Sadly due two committee members upsetting most people involved, nearly all the road works theme was scrapped after filming and this saw the sad decline of Oakham in Bloom, this year Oakham in Bloom has decided to scale down its work and it is planned the towns roundabouts will be returned to grass.

Britain in Bloom contest was a daily drama for television viewers in a new BBC Two series.

Cameras will followed communities as they prepared for the arrival of the Britain in Bloom judges in the hope of going through to the national finals.

Chris Bavin, the former greengrocer who hosts the BBC’s Eat Well For Less, will present the new series. It aims to “reflect the diversity of Bloom categories and the local heroes at the heart of them”.
