Good News: Retirement of Oakham in Bloom founder Joyce Lucas. Cllr Adam Lowe appoints himself independent town crier after Oakham Town Council refuse to appoint him.

Good News Retirement of Oakham in Bloom founder Joyce Lucas.

The most unkind person I have ever met has finally stepped down from Oakham in Bloom.

Joyce Lucas founded Oakham in Bloom whilst she was a town councillor in 1997.

under her 'leadership' up to 2009 Oakham in Bloom won awards, It is not reported that the latter awards were earned by volunteers when Joyce Lucas was not a member of Oakham in Bloom and when she did return to the committee no further awards were won. Slowly flower beds have been filled in and others look a complete mess.

Before Joyce and Craig pictured above chased of most of the Oakham in Bloom volunteers who actually did the work that used to make our town look pretty.

Craig has also retired from Oakham in Bloom.

I did think about volunteering now that both had departed. Then I found via the Oakham in Bloom website Cllr Adam Lowe is a committee member is there nothing in Oakham he is not involved in.

Those few volunteers who remain have a lot of work to do this year. It is understandable they will have to reduce what they can do. It is said the flower beds in the round abouts will be removed. The boat in Stamford is a complete mess full of weed and broken plastic slug traps.

Last year Cllr Adam Lowe asked Oakham Town Council to appoint him as the official town crier this was not approved. So Adam appointed himself as the town Independent Town Crier. Supported by Oakham in Bloom, Cllr Adam Lowe always gets what he wants.
