Hoxton Shepherd's Bush Hotel London Review

Hoxton Shepherd's Bush Hotel London Review

My stay at the Hoxton Shepherd's Bush Hotel in London was a mixed bag. The hotel's friendly receptionist and clean bathroom were highlights, but the room was underwhelming, the breakfast bag never arrived, and an unexpected fire alarm incident soured the experience.

Accommodation

Upon arrival, the hotel's welcoming receptionist set a very positive tone. The room, however, left me feeling un-wowed. It resembled a standard Travelodge accommodation, lacking the stylish charm I'd anticipated. The minibar stocked only milk and water, while tea and decaf coffee were provided in the room. The bathroom, however, was a redeeming feature, offering a choice of shower types and a clean, well-maintained space. The TV worked, The pointless Roberts DAB radio looked good, a poor signal prevented me from listening to any station. This is typical of most DAB areas. You are also expected to make tea or coffee with your clothes hanging above.

Service

Despite the initial warmth of the reception, the morning staff's indifferent attitude to my breakfast bag's non-delivery was disappointing. The incident was compounded by a bizarre occurrence where my deodorant's aerosol triggered a local fire alarm, disrupting the hotel's quiet morning routine. The lack of empathy or concern from the morning staff further eroded my positive impression of the hotel's service. So I checked out early and purchased my breakfast from a Amazon Fresh store.

Overall

The Hoxton Shepherd's Bush Hotel's friendly receptionist and clean bathroom were positive aspects. However, the underwhelming room, missed breakfast, and frustrating fire alarm incident left me feeling disappointed overall. While the hotel may appeal to those seeking a basic and affordable option, the lack of attention to detail and the indifferent service left a sour taste in my mouth.

There is a nice little shop called Plastic Freedom attached to the hotel.

The Lobby area you need to pass through is busy as this is where a bar and eatery is located.
