Dance Through Time: Swing into the 80th Anniversary of D-Day with the Rutland Lions!
Dust off your dancing shoes and step back in time! The Rutland Lions Club is hosting a fundraising swing evening to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on Thursday, June 8th.
This special event promises an evening filled with nostalgic entertainment, delicious light bites, and the chance to support a worthy cause. Get ready to jive and jitterbug to live music from the Rutland Big Band and the sensational vintage vocals trio, The Swingettes. They'll be performing classic 1940s tunes that will transport you right back to the era.
Feel free to embrace the spirit of the occasion by dressing up in your finest 1940s attire! Raid those charity shops, dig out your vintage finds, and channel your inner glamour with victory rolls and red lipstick. It's all about celebrating the era and honouring the sacrifices made during World War II.
The event will be held at the Victoria Hall in Oakham and starts at 7pm. Tickets are £25 and include light rations served at your table.
