Oakham Town Council Celebrates Summer with Cutts Close Park Bandstand Events!


The wait is over! Mark your calendars, music lovers, because Oakham Town Council is kicking off the summer season with a fantastic lineup of performances at the Cutts Close Park Bandstand. Starting on June 9th, 2024, and running all the way to the August bank holiday, there's something for everyone at these free afternoon events.


Here's a sneak peek at the exciting schedule: 


June 9th: Commemorate D-Day with a special event featuring Alan Jackson (vintage vocalist) and Marlow & Smith (acoustic duo). This event starts at 12pm and concludes at  5pm.

The following events start at 2.30pm and conclude at 4.30pm:

June 16th (Father's Day): Celebrate Dad with the energetic rock and roll stylings of The Hound Dogs.

June 23rd: Enjoy the community spirit with the Rutland Concert Band, featuring musicians of all ages and abilities.

June 30th: Dance the afternoon away to new wave hits with The Atomics.

The fun continues in July and August with a variety of bands, including:

The Midnight City Band (July 7th)

Rutland Big Band (July 14th): Swing to the sounds of the 1940s and beyond.

Smokestack Blues Band (July 21st): Get your blues fix.

C J Hatt (July 28th): Solo acoustic guitarist and harmony singer.

Hathern Band (August 11th): First Section Brass Band from Leicestershire.


Out of the Blue & Vesper (August 26th): Bank holiday special with a mix of music genres. This event starts at 12pm and concludes at 5pm.


Bring a picnic blanket or chairs for seating (limited availability).

Pack some snacks and drinks.

Don't forget an umbrella (British weather, you know!).

Toilets are located in the nearby Church Street Car Park.

Noise Aware:

Oakham Town Council is committed to ensuring everyone enjoys the events. 

Due to past concerns, they've invested in noise monitoring equipment to keep the volume at a comfortable level for all attendees, including nearby and distant residents.

So come on down to Cutts Close Park and join the fun! It's a fantastic way to spend your summer afternoons in Oakham.
