Oakham Bids Farewell to Long-Serving Mayor Sally-Anne Wadsworth and Welcomes New Leadership.

Last night's Annual General Meeting (AGM) saw a changing of the guard at Oakham Town Council. Sally-Anne Wadsworth, who served a commendable two years as Mayor, stepped down and was presented with flowers and chocolates in appreciation of her service.

There was a slight hiccup, as the Council had run out of past Mayor badges. However, in a gesture of camaraderie, the newly appointed Mayor, Cllr Adam Lowe, presented Ms. Wadsworth with his own badge. This marked a notable moment, as Cllr Lowe himself is now entering his fourth term as Mayor.

Adding to his civic duties, Cllr Lowe was also appointed the town crier. Completing the leadership team, Cllr Chris Nix was chosen again as the Deputy Mayor.

The evening acknowledged Ms. Wadsworth's dedication while ushering in a new chapter under Cllr Lowe's experienced leadership. With his additional role as town crier, Cllr Lowe promises to be a vocal advocate for Oakham!

Cllr Joyce Lucas nominated Cllr Adam Lowe and spoke about her two terms and many engagements, Cllr Lucas listed some of the many different hats Cllr Lowe wears. She completed her reason for nominating Cllr Lowe by stating everyone knows Cllr Adam Lowe.
