The ceremony will be attended by esteemed guests including the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland Mrs Jeannette Warner and High Sheriff of Rutland Richard Cole. Representatives from Rutland County Council, Town and Parish Councils, the Royal British Legion, and veterans will also be present, signifying the broad spectrum of local support for the Armed Forces.

The ceremony kicks off at 10:15 am in the grounds of Oakham Castle. A short program will culminate in the raising of the Armed Forces flag by personnel from the 1st Royal Anglian Regiment. All members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate in this meaningful occasion.

Rutland boasts a significant Armed Forces presence, with over 15% of its population connected to the military. Notably, one-sixth of this group consists of dedicated Reservists who contribute their valuable time and skills when needed.
