Gold Wing Owners Club Invites Oakham to a Spectacle, Oakham set to be dazzled by motorcycle magic


Residents of Oakham and surrounding villages are in for a treat as the Gold Wing Owners Club of Great Britain and their European counterparts prepare to take to the town's streets for two spectacular parades.

The event promises to be a visual feast for all ages, with over 100 motorcycles adorned with shining lights on Friday night, followed by a dazzling display of European flags on Saturday evening.

Organisers are encouraging locals to line the streets to witness the impressive cavalcade and show their support for the riders. With riders and pillions planning to wave throughout the parades, the event promises to be a fun and engaging experience for everyone.

Parade Details:

Light Parade: Friday, 23rd August, 9pm - 9.20pm

Parade of Nations: Saturday, 24th August, 5pm - 5.20pm

Both parades will follow the same route, starting and finishing at the Rutland Showground. The route will take the riders through the heart of Oakham, allowing residents ample opportunity to catch a glimpse of the stunning display.


The riders route:

LIGHT PARADE, Friday 23rd August, leave Rutland showground 9pm - arriving back to Rutland showground 9.20pm


PARADE OF NATIONS, Saturday 24th August, leave Rutland showground 5.00pm - arriving back to Rutland showground 5.20pm

ROUTE FOR BOTH NIGHTS

Left out of Rutland showground onto Burley Park Way                                               

At roundabout go straight on (2nd exit)                                                           

At roundabout go straight on (2nd exit)                                                           

At roundabout take 3rd exit - Stamford Road                                                  

At mini roundabout turn right - Catmos Street                                               

At mini roundabout (premier blinds) go straight on - High Street                    

Through pedestrian traffic lights by Wetherspoons

Turn right (before train track) signposted Cottesmore / Grantham - Station Road       

After police station turn right - Church Street                                                   

At Wheatsheaf pub turn right - Northgate                                                        

At end of road turn left and then left again into town - Melton Road                

Through pedestrian traffic lights by Wetherspoons

At mini roundabout turn left signposted Cottesmore - Burley Road                 

At roundabout turn left - Burley Park Way 

At roundabout turn left - Ashwell Road

At top of Ashwell Road keep left onto Burley Road

At roundabout go left onto Burley Park Way                                                       

At roundabout go straight on (2nd exit) - Burley Park Way                               

At roundabout go right into Rutland showground
