Leicestershire Police is set to hold an accelerated misconduct hearing for former PC John Stuart Clough on Friday

Former Leicestershire Police Officer Faces Misconduct Hearing for Stalking Colleague

Leicestershire Police is set to hold an accelerated misconduct hearing for former PC John Stuart Clough on Friday, September 13th, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

This follows Clough's conviction in August for stalking a female colleague and misusing police computer systems.

The Charges:

Stalking: Clough is accused of engaging in a course of conduct amounting to stalking of his colleague between November 24th, 2022, and September 24th, 2023.

Computer Misuse: He is also charged with accessing police systems without authorisation between November 24th, 2022, and July 9th, 2023, to track the victim's location.

These actions are alleged to constitute a breach of the expected standards of professional behaviour, specifically "discreditable conduct."

Hearing Details:

The hearing will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Members of the public can apply to observe the proceedings by following the link:

However, applications must be submitted no later than 8:00 AM on Thursday, September 12th, 2024. Please note that photographing or recording the hearing is strictly prohibited.

Background:

In August 2024, Clough was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment and issued a five-year restraining order after pleading guilty to the aforementioned charges. He resigned from the force in March 2024.

This hearing serves to determine the potential consequences of Clough's actions within the Leicestershire Police framework.
