Oakham Hopper Timetable Extended Due to Brooke Road Closure
Travellers in Oakham will benefit from continued adjusted timetables for the free Oakham Hopper minibus service. The changes, initially implemented due to the temporary closure of Brooke Road, will now remain in effect until the road reopens on November 30th, 2024.
Operated by Rutland County Council and subsidised by Oakham Town Council, the Oakham Hopper provides a vital service for residents, connecting them to supermarkets, Oakham High Street, the Market Place, and the Bus Station. The service runs weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including stops on Glebe Way (between Lonsdale Way and Braunston Road) and Welland Way (opposite Irwell Close).
The adjusted timetables account for the Brooke Road closure, ensuring continued access to these areas. Passengers can also benefit from the "hail and ride" feature, where the bus will stop at any safe location along its route if flagged down.
Key Information:
Route: Balmoral Road, Welland Way, Trent Road, Brooke Road (diverted due to closure), Balmoral Road, West Road, and Cold Overton Road.
Timetable: Available on the Rutland County Council website. For those without internet access, a printed copy can be requested by calling 01572 758 138.

This extension of the adjusted timetables ensures continued convenient and accessible transportation for Oakham residents during the Brooke Road closure.
