Oakham Town Council has called an Extraordinary Meeting of the Full Council, scheduled for Wednesday, 7th October 2026 at 7:00 pm, immediately following the Staffing Committee meeting earlier that evening.
Led by Chairman M. Brookes, the session will be held at the Town Council Offices in the Council Chamber at Rol House, Long Row, and is open to both the press and the public.
Key Highlights from the Agenda
Recruitment Advertising Funding: Following recommendations from the Staffing Committee, the Full Council will review and vote on approving the advertising budget required to recruit new staff vacancies.
Christmas Lights Budget: The council will review notes from the Events Working Group meeting held on 17th September 2026. Furthermore, council members will consider and decide upon the management of the Christmas Lights, ensuring festive preparations are fully aligned for the upcoming holiday season.
Financial Approvals & Routine Business: The agenda also includes reviewing and approving outstanding invoices for payment presented by Locum Clerk/RFO S. Haywood, alongside receiving apologies for absence, declarations of interest, and public deputations (capped at 15 minutes total with a 3-minute limit per speaker).
Approval of Past Minutes: Council members are set to approve and sign the official minutes from two previous meetings: the Extraordinary Council meeting on 2nd September 2026 and the Ordinary Council meeting on 9th September 2026.
