No one important could be found to start this years race, in the past the race has been started by MP Alan Ducan and Conservative Chief Executive of Rutland County Council Helen Briggs. This year the race was started by Conservative Leader of Rutland County Council Roger Begy using his red tie, it appears some one forgot the flag.
At first when I zoomed in from up the road and saw the tie fly,
I thought he was cracking the whip.
