A Labour councillor who thought he had lost his seat was re-elected after a bundle of votes was found "under a Tory pile".

A Labour councillor who thought he had lost his seat was re-elected after a bundle of votes was found "under a Tory pile".

Duncan Enright, who stood against David Cameron in the 2015 general election in Witney, Oxfordshire, thought he had lost his seat by around 70 votes.

But the "delighted" councillor later tweeted to say he had been re-elected in Witney East ward after the surprise discovery.

Reading the headline reminded me of Rutland

last year votes for a candidate were found in a unmarked envelope at the postal vote.
Know one could explain how they got there.

And the performance by the Tories at the count when they tried to prevent an independent
taking a seat from a Conservative.

I think the time has come for independent election bodies, I don't trust some council staff to
remain impartial.
