Ancient Lime Trees Mark Location of Market Shamble Rutland County Council Considering Removing
Rutland County Council is considering chopping down the remain three ancient Lime
trees located in the market place. The trees mark out the foot print of the old market
shamble (open air slaughter house)
The will replace all four trees with new limes, there is nothing wrong with the remaining
three trees apart from the council seem to think they permanently need to be pollarded.
Rutland County Council consider chopping down trees to be a sensitive issue.
