Barleythorpe Parish Council New Parish Council to be created

The resident of Barleythorpe are to get there own parish council
and fortunate for them they won't be governed by Oakham Town
Council.

A interim council will be set up soon with advise from Rutland
County Council Officers.

The first election will be held once the council has been set up.

The need for a parish council has been brought about by the
huge expansion of Barleythorpe Village.

In less than two years time more voters will be packed into
a tiny area of Rutland more voters than the whole of Oakham.
